Our History
Sealtek Fabrications Ltd. (Ladner Traps) was founded as a company in 1984 by its present owners. Prior to that, the name Ladner Traps came from a small business in Ladner that was started by a commercial crab fisherman who made traps for himself and other local fishermen. As time progressed, the traps evolved and became very successful. The news of crab traps being built by a fisherman in Ladner is what lead to the name of
Ladner Traps.
When the new owners took over the business, after being involved with it for 10 years with the original owner, they decided to expand into other trap types besides crab. We have grown but continue to hold on to the very basic principals of building a high quality product that will provide our customers with the best possible opportunity to maximize their fishing effort.
Our Location
We are located in the fishing and farming village of Ladner, which is part of the municipality of Delta, BC. To find us from the Canada/US border, come through the border at the Peace Arch crossing on I-5 which becomes Highway 99. Travel North along Hwy 99 to exit 20, which is the exit for Ladner, Tsawwassen, the Victoria Ferry Terminal and Hwy 10. Take exit 20 to the right and you will immediately come to a traffic light. At the light turn left and cross back over the freeway. This road is called Hwy 10 and also Ladner Trunk Road. From there follow Ladner Trunk Road straight into Ladner and the the village core. The road curves a bit and changes names a couple of times to become River Road West which is where we are -- 3593 River Road West.
